I am embarrassed to admit how much I am dragging w/o my morning chai from Starbucks. Do they add something to it? Am I addicted? EEK! Only 3 days until I can have another one. It's going to be a long month people. A looooooooooong month.
hi, leesa1 from dwlz... as a fellow starbucks addict i feel your pain. i used to work there so i know how all the drinks are made. did you know you can buy the same concentrate they use for chai at starbucks for like $4 (it makes several drinks)? i always drank iced ones, so would add my own milk and it is the exact same drink. now i have an espresso machine too (gaggia carezza, love it) and the $200 i spent on that thing has saved me thousands just in the 2 years i have had it! good luck on your starbucks-free month and feel free to PM me with barista questions!
I have tried that, with the Tazo chai mix in the store, but it's not the same!!! It tastes different. That's why I was wondering if they add some doobie or something in there. HA!
Thanks for the info though.. I used to be a barista, too -- at the Barnes and Noble cafe, though. It was one of the best jobs I ever had. So fun!!
Okay, I'm trying. I did a search on Starbuck's Chai Concentrate and found multiple entries that explained that the Tzao concentrate that they sell is not the same as what they use behind the counter. See here:

I'm still looking to see if I can find you the real stuff to buy online.

I bet if you could find the concentrate and make your own like Leesa said.
I didn't know you were a barista. Where have you been all my life? LOL! I love my cappuccino maker.
